September 02, 2025

DESCRIPCIÓN

Project Name: TEMS – Trusted European Media data Space

Project Duration: October 1, 2023 – September 30, 2026

What is TEMS?

The TEMS innovation project (Trusted European Media data Space) is a joint initiative of 42 organizations representing hundreds of stakeholders from 12 countries in the cultural and creative sectors. Its goal is to design and launch a common media data space across Europe.

The initiative is supported by the European Commission’s Digital Europe Programme (DIGITAL) and is a key element in the implementation of the European Data Strategy. With an investment of €16.5 million, the consortium marks a milestone in how the media sector will be able to share and extract value from data. TEMS aims to foster the economic development and future growth of local and regional media ecosystems throughout Europe.

Specifically, TEMS will lead the large-scale deployment of cutting-edge services, infrastructures, and platforms. It will also address challenges such as tackling disinformation, audience analysis, improving data flows within production chains, and supporting the adoption of artificial intelligence and virtual reality technologies.

TEMS will further develop existing media platforms and nascent data space infrastructures, while providing open access to a common data space for any stakeholder in the media sector, across all subsectors. This will contribute to digital transformation and enhance the competitiveness of the European media industry.

The role of BAIDATA

BAIDATA contributes to the TEMS project by supporting the design and deployment of the media data space. Its work includes defining the data ecosystem and reference architecture by integrating technical, legal, and business requirements; collaborating in the creation of certified models of media data spaces through pilot trials and common services; coordinating with the Data Space Support Centre (DSSC) to generate economies of scale and simplify global operations; and driving communication, dissemination, and sustainability efforts, as well as supporting training initiatives and skills development required for participation in this domain.
