The SEMIC Conference is the annual flagship event on semantic interoperability, organised by the European Commission in collaboration with the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. This year’s edition takes place 25–26 November 2025 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

The focus of SEMIC 2025 is “Interoperability for Impact” — emphasising how seamless connectivity and semantic alignment across systems can deliver tangible results for public administrations, businesses and citizens alike.

The conference will cover:

  • The role of semantics, artificial intelligence and data spaces in enabling smarter, more interconnected public services.

  • Methods for advancing AI-driven interoperability to enhance service delivery and governance.

  • The evolution of the European Interoperability Framework and how policy-making can embed digitally-ready, service-centric approaches.

  • A full day of technical workshops (25 November) featuring hands-on sessions on semantic modelling, toolsets, cross-border interoperability and legal aspects of semantics.

  • An exhibition area where public-sector leaders, industry and academia will present real-world interoperability solutions
