Spain's Ministry of Health promotes a law to regulate the use of big data in healthcare

The Ministry of Health has launched a public consultation on the future Digital Health Bill, which seeks to ensure interoperable digital medical records throughout Spain and the EU. The legislation will regulate the ethical and secure use of clinical data for scientific purposes and establish a legal framework for technologies such as artificial intelligence, biometrics and neurotechnologies. In addition, it will integrate the private sector into digital medical records and set criteria for digital health products. The consultation will be open until 20 October 2025.
