New €87 Million Call to Boost Smart Cities and Territories

The government has announced €87 million in grants to promote smart cities and territories, managed by Red.es with ERDF funds.

Aimed at local authorities and autonomous communities, it seeks to improve technological infrastructure and apply advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and digital twins. To date, more than €200 million has been invested in similar programmes, benefiting 59 projects. It is expected to mobilise up to £500 million by 2025 in areas such as cybersecurity and 5G.
