DESCRIPCIÓN
On February 11, the Data Space Adoption Forum (DSAF) was officially launched, a new initiative aimed at advancing trusted data sharing at scale through cloud-based solutions and collaborative models that simplify onboarding into data spaces. The forum is backed by key organizations such as the International Data Spaces Association (IDSA), the Gaia-X Association for Data and Cloud (AISBL), and CISPE, together with leading industry and cloud partners.
DSAF has a clear ambition: to overcome the barriers that currently hinder large-scale adoption — high costs, technical complexity, and slow onboarding processes — and enable more than 10,000 companies to join data spaces within 18 months. To achieve this, it promotes plug-and-play services and models such as Connector-as-a-Service (CaaS), distributed via cloud and managed service providers, with the goal of reaching the “last mile”: SMEs.
The initiative also responds to an increasingly demanding regulatory landscape, shaped by European legislation that will require large-scale data sharing in the coming years, positioning DSAF as a permanent collaboration platform to scale data spaces beyond pilot projects toward real-world, sustainable deployments.
