European Commission launches new calls under the Digital Europe Programme

The European Commission has opened the second set of calls for proposals under the 2025–2026 Work Programme of the Digital Europe Programme (DIGITAL), a key EU initiative aimed at strengthening Europe’s technological capabilities and accelerating its digital transformation.
Published in early October, this new package of calls seeks to boost the development and adoption of advanced digital technologies, focusing on strategic areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), data, supercomputing, digital skills, and the European Digital Innovation Hubs (EDIHs) network.
The main funding opportunities include:

European League of Advanced Digital Skills Academies and European Advanced Digital Skills Competitions, designed to strengthen Europe’s digital talent and skills base.

Data Space for Manufacturing, supporting the creation of a common industrial data space in Europe.

Completion of the initial Network of European Digital Innovation Hubs and the consolidation of the EDIH network with a reinforced AI focus, expanding the reach and coordination of digital innovation hubs across the continent.

European Genomic Data Infrastructure, with two strands dedicated to the storage, processing, and development of tools for genomic data management.

Virtual Worlds Test Beds, enabling experimentation and validation of solutions in immersive digital environments.

Apply AI: GenAI for Public Administrations, promoting the responsible use of generative AI in the public sector.

European Digital Media Observatory Hubs, strengthening the fight against disinformation through digital technologies.

Collaborative Platform for the Connected and Autonomous Vehicle of the Future and the Secretariat of the European Alliance for Connected and Autonomous Vehicles, supporting the development of a European ecosystem for smart mobility.

Multimodal AI Solutions in Medical Imaging, integrating AI into diagnostics and clinical data management.

Support to the Network of National Contact Points for the Digital Europe Programme, enhancing coordination among Member States.
The submission period opens on 4 November 2025 and closes on 3 March 2026. Interested entities can submit their proposals through the European Commission’s Funding & Tenders Portal, where detailed information on budgets, eligibility, and evaluation criteria is available.
