European Legal Data Space
September 12, 2025
DESCRIPCIÓN
The European Commission has launched the European Legal Data Space, a data space within the European Data Strategy, aimed at making legal information in Europe more accessible, interoperable, and reusable. The platform, hosted on the European Data Portal, brings together resources in four main areas: common standards, access to collections of legislation and case law, data on justice systems, and the EUR-Lex data dump.
This data space is designed to support public administrations, legal professionals, and civil society in navigating open legal data, which is often fragmented and complex. By centralising this information, the European Legal Data Space promotes legal transparency, data governance, and the development of innovative legal tools, contributing to the growth of Europe’s data-driven economy.
