Data spaces advance in the Gartner Hype Cycle as a key technology for secure data sharing

March 16, 2026

DESCRIPCIÓN

Data spaces have emerged as a new model for sharing information between organizations in a secure and interoperable way while ensuring data sovereignty.

This is reflected in the Gartner Hype Cycle, a framework that analyzes the maturity and adoption of emerging technologies. It currently places data spaces at a stage characterized by growing conceptual consensus and increasing standardization efforts. This indicates that while the technological and regulatory foundations are becoming clearer, widespread adoption still depends on organizational factors such as data governance, interoperability between systems, and internal alignment within companies.

In this context, our association aims to play a relevant role by contributing to the expansion of reference frameworks, architectures, and standards that support the development of trusted and sovereign data ecosystems. These elements help companies, public administrations, and technology providers participate in data spaces without having to build all the required components from scratch.
